Cleveland, Ohio – After several days of unsettled weather, northern Ohio is settling into a much quieter pattern today as high pressure brings sunshine, dry conditions and comfortable summer temperatures across the region. It will be an ideal day for outdoor activities, travel and recreation with no significant weather hazards expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, high pressure will remain in control throughout Thursday, keeping skies mostly sunny while afternoon temperatures climb into the upper 70s to middle 80s. Humidity levels will remain seasonable, making conditions feel comfortable for late July.
High temperatures are expected to reach around 83 degrees in Cleveland, 82 in Elyria, Sandusky and Akron, 84 in Findlay and Tiffin, 83 in Toledo, 81 in Mansfield, Wooster and Mount Vernon, 80 in Ashtabula, 79 in Youngstown, 78 in Mentor, and 76 in Ashtabula County’s eastern lakeshore communities. A light breeze off Lake Erie may keep shoreline locations a few degrees cooler than inland areas during the afternoon.
The dry weather will provide favorable conditions for construction projects, yard work, outdoor sports and trips to area parks and beaches. Even with the comfortable temperatures, residents spending extended time outdoors should stay hydrated and use sunscreen during peak afternoon sunshine.
