Manchester, New Hampshire – A developing dry pattern is increasing brush fire danger across New Hampshire as rainfall totals fall up to 0.30 inches below normal and warmer spring air builds through Sunday, April 12th.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, New Hampshire is expected to remain in a below-normal precipitation zone during this stretch, with limited chances for widespread rainfall. Temperatures will trend near to slightly above average, especially heading into the weekend, accelerating the drying of vegetation.

Across Hillsborough, Merrimack, and Rockingham counties, leaf litter and dry brush are becoming increasingly flammable. Fire officials warn that burning leaves or yard debris could quickly ignite and spread, particularly in wooded areas and along key corridors such as Interstate 93, Route 101, and Interstate 89. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and use caution with campfires.

In Manchester and Nashua, the dry and mild conditions will support increased outdoor activity, including spring travel, hiking, and construction. Concord and surrounding areas will also see elevated fire risk, especially during breezy afternoon periods that can help flames spread more quickly.

This pattern is expected to persist through April 12th, with additional fire weather alerts possible if dry conditions continue and winds increase.
