Boston, Mass. – Southern New England is heading into an extended stretch of comfortable summer weather, with sunshine, seasonable temperatures and dry conditions expected through the weekend before the next opportunity for rain arrives early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, partly to mostly sunny skies will dominate from Thursday through Sunday as temperatures remain close to late-July averages. The pleasant pattern will provide favorable conditions for beach trips, outdoor festivals, hiking and travel across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

High temperatures on Thursday will range from 76 to 80 degrees, followed by 78 to 84 degrees Friday under mostly sunny skies. The warm but comfortable weather continues into the weekend, with highs reaching 78 to 85 degrees Saturday and 77 to 84 degrees Sunday. Overnight lows will generally fall into the 50s and lower 60s, with slightly milder nights by the second half of the weekend.

Humidity levels are expected to remain manageable through Sunday, making afternoons feel comfortable despite the midsummer sunshine. While inland areas will warm into the 80s, cooler readings are possible near the immediate coastline thanks to onshore breezes.

The next chance for more widespread showers arrives early next week as a more unsettled weather pattern begins to develop. While no significant weather hazards are expected through the weekend, residents should monitor updated forecasts for the timing of any rain as the new week begins.
