Green Bay, Wis. – Northeast Wisconsin will enjoy another couple of comfortable summer days before warmer temperatures and the chance for thunderstorms return over the weekend. Plenty of sunshine, low humidity and highs near 80 degrees will make Thursday and Friday the pick of the week for outdoor plans.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, dry weather is expected to continue through Friday with mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s across much of the region. Comfortable humidity levels will also persist through the end of the workweek.
The weather pattern begins to change Saturday as temperatures climb into the lower to middle 80s, with highs generally between 83 and 87 degrees. A 25% to 35% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected, with the greatest potential focused across northern Wisconsin.
By Sunday, warmer and more humid air spreads across the state, pushing afternoon highs into the mid to upper 80s, with many communities reaching 85 to 89 degrees. Thunderstorm chances also increase to 30% to 40%, with the highest likelihood developing during the evening hours.
While widespread severe weather is not indicated at this time, any thunderstorm can produce lightning and brief heavy downpours. Residents planning camping trips, festivals or time on area lakes should keep an eye on the forecast and be prepared to move indoors if thunderstorms develop.
The pleasant stretch of weather will continue through Friday before a more typical midsummer pattern returns over the weekend. Forecast details, including storm timing and coverage, may be refined as the weekend approaches.
