Pueblo, Colorado – Warm, dry air is quickly building across southern Colorado this morning, pushing temperatures toward summer-like levels by this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, highs will climb into the 70s and lower 80s across the plains, including Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar, while mountain valleys such as Alamosa and Salida reach into the 60s. Skies will remain mostly clear, allowing for rapid daytime warming and comfortable outdoor conditions.

Across Interstate 25, from Colorado Springs to Trinidad, residents can expect mild spring weather with light winds and no major travel impacts. The warmest readings will be found across the far eastern plains, where temperatures may approach the low 80s.

This brief warmup will not last long. A cooler air mass is expected to move in by Friday, bringing temperatures down across the region and signaling a shift toward more typical early April conditions heading into the weekend.

Residents should take advantage of the dry and warm weather today but prepare for cooler temperatures returning by Friday, with additional updates possible as the pattern changes.
