Nevada – A warm breeze is already sweeping across Las Vegas, and the dry desert air is setting up a steady climb in temperatures that will bring early-season heat and gusty winds into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, sunny skies dominate today with highs near 80°F, while southwest winds increase with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. Conditions remain dry across the valley, including along I-15 and U.S. 95.
Winds pick up further heading into Friday. Gusts could reach near 29 mph, especially during the afternoon, creating crosswinds for drivers and minor travel impacts for high-profile vehicles. Temperatures dip slightly into the mid-70s before rebounding again.
By Saturday, the warming trend resumes. Highs climb back into the low 80s under full sunshine, and winds begin to ease slightly. Outdoor conditions remain favorable, though the sun will feel stronger during peak afternoon hours.
Sunday brings the biggest temperature jump. Highs reach the upper 80s, pushing close to 90°F in some areas. The combination of dry air and strong sun will increase dehydration risk, especially for those spending extended time outdoors on the Strip or hiking nearby trails like Red Rock Canyon.
Looking ahead, early next week keeps the warm pattern in place, with highs staying in the upper 80s to near 90°F and little relief overnight.
If you’re heading outside, stay hydrated and watch for gusty winds, especially on open roadways. Are you feeling the heat building yet?
