Fort Wayne, Indiana – Drivers and residents across northeast Indiana are cleaning up damage this morning after two rounds of severe storms pushed through between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday, producing wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail as large as 1 inch.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, the strongest storms developed during the evening hours, with clusters of severe thunderstorms sweeping through Fort Wayne, Warsaw, and areas along the I-69 corridor. Reports show wind damage to trees and structures, including snapped trees in Mentone and barn damage near North Manchester.
Rainfall totals reached significant levels, adding to localized flooding concerns. Fort Wayne recorded up to 2.51 inches of rain, while areas near North Webster saw over 2.3 inches. Widespread totals between 1 and 3 inches were reported across Allen, Kosciusko, and Marshall counties.
Storm reports confirm multiple instances of quarter-size hail and isolated larger stones near Warsaw and Mentone. Despite the intensity, no tornadoes were confirmed.
Conditions are improving this morning, but additional storms remain possible later this week, and residents should stay alert for updated advisories.
