Showers and thunderstorms are expected to spread across the Ohio Valley during the day, with the strongest storms developing Tuesday afternoon and evening.

However, large hail, isolated tornadoes, torrential rainfall and localized flash flooding are also possible with the strongest storms. Behind Tuesday’s cold front, cooler and drier air arrives by Wednesday, bringing sunshine and a welcome break from the humidity. High temperatures fall back to around 79 degrees, making midweek much more comfortable for outdoor activities.
Long-range outlooks continue to favor above-normal temperatures returning later next week, suggesting the midsummer warmth is far from over.
