Tuesday turns hotter with a high near 94 degrees and heat index values reaching 104 degrees, while scattered afternoon thunderstorms remain possible. Wednesday brings another surge of summer heat with highs around 95 degrees under mostly sunny skies before isolated storms return later in the week. While widespread severe weather is not expected, a stronger afternoon storm could produce gusty winds and torrential rain. An isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out in Florida’s summer thunderstorm environment, although the threat remains very low.
Across the Gulf, Tropical Depression Two continues to strengthen gradually. Current National Hurricane Center projections keep the heaviest rainfall west of the Tampa Bay area, but residents should continue monitoring official updates as the system evolves.
