Peoria, IL – A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery and battery involving a teenage victim that occurred in Peoria late last year.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the incident was first reported Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, around 9:37 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Missouri Avenue. Officers were dispatched after receiving reports that a robbery had occurred earlier in the evening.

Police said a 17-year-old male allegedly told officers he was approached by five male suspects, each reportedly armed with handguns. Investigators said the suspects allegedly took the victim’s personal belongings and repeatedly battered him before fleeing the area on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries.

According to Peoria Police, detectives allegedly identified two juvenile suspects during the investigation and took them into custody Jan. 3. A 15-year-old male was arrested for armed robbery, aggravated battery and resisting or obstructing police, while also being taken into custody on an active warrant for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. A 17-year-old male was also arrested for armed robbery and resisting or obstructing police. Both juveniles were transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police later reported that on Jan. 7 officers located 19-year-old Shamari D. Joiner in the 1100 block of East McClure Avenue. Authorities said Joiner was taken into custody without incident and allegedly charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, armed robbery, possession of a weapon by a felon and residential burglary before being booked into the Peoria County Jail.

According to investigators, officers located another suspect, 20-year-old Jorden J. Foster, on Wednesday, March 19 around 6 p.m. in the 2300 block of Northeast Adams Street. Foster was allegedly arrested for armed robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition without a FOID card and domestic battery.

Peoria police said the investigation continued and detectives learned that 18-year-old Kenmetris Cockfield had been taken into custody in Hamilton County, Indiana, on an unrelated matter. On Sunday, March 30, Cockfield was extradited to Peoria and allegedly arrested for armed robbery before being transported to the Peoria County Jail.
