Joliet, Illinois – A full slate of outdoor programs is set to begin Tuesday evening across Will County, with guided wildflower hikes, birding sessions and trail events running daily through Sunday.

According to the Forest Preserve District of Will County, eight programs will take place between Tuesday and Sunday at preserves and nature centers in Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Channahon, Mokena and Joliet. Registration is required for most activities through the district’s event calendar.

The week opens with two Tuesday evening programs, including a guided wildflower hike at Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Bolingbrook and a hands-on nature detective event for young children in Crete Township. Activities expand Wednesday with an Earth Day-themed wildflower walk at O’Hara Woods in Romeoville.

By Saturday, the schedule shifts to larger outdoor experiences, including an 18.5-mile bike ride along the Old Plank Road Trail in Mokena, beginner birding in Channahon and Museum Campus Day at Isle a la Cache. A volunteer river cleanup wraps up the week Sunday in Joliet.
