LAS VEGAS — The $300 million infrastructure upgrade is fully operational in 2026 and has brought improved traffic flow.

According to data from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, the state had around 2.3 million licensed drivers on the road. With that large number of drivers plus the increase from visitors, Las Vegas roads are known to experience congestion. The I-15/Tropicana interchange project, completed in September 2025, was designed to increase capacity and redesign ramps to improve efficiency. The new design now supports up to 300,000 vehicles per day and has won the Baldwin Group Build America Award for the best design-build civil project.

Since completion, traffic on the updated highway has been flowing steadily, with no major congestion reported in months. The newly added Joey Bishop Drive keeps traffic flowing to and from Allegiant Stadium, especially on event days, which have notoriously seen increases in congestion.

While congestion has improved, adjustments and minor disruptions continue because of lingering roadwork in the Interstate 15 corridor.
