Green Bay, Wis. – Drivers and residents across central and east-central Wisconsin could see sudden downpours and small hail within hours, as isolated strong storms develop late this morning into the early afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the primary window for storm activity runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the greatest focus from Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point eastward through Appleton, Oshkosh, and Green Bay. While storm coverage will remain scattered, any stronger cell could quickly intensify.

The main threats include hail up to 1 inch in diameter, wind gusts near 30 mph, and brief heavy rainfall that may reduce visibility and create slick roads. Lightning will also pose a risk for anyone outdoors during peak storm activity.

Travel along key routes such as I-41 and U.S. 10 could be briefly impacted by fast-moving storms, especially during heavier bursts of rain. Conditions may change rapidly, with short-lived but intense impacts.

Storm chances will diminish after early afternoon, but residents should stay alert for rapidly developing cells and monitor for any updated advisories through the day.
