Louisville, Kentucky – Easter Sunday travel across the Ohio Valley, including Kentucky and southern Indiana, is expected to remain smooth with near-normal temperatures and only limited rain briefly passing through early in the day.
According to the National Weather Service, a stable pattern will hold across the central U.S. through Wednesday night, keeping precipitation near to slightly below normal. Cities including Louisville, Lexington, Evansville, and southern Indiana communities along I-64 and I-65 may see isolated light showers early Sunday between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., but widespread impacts are not expected.
Major travel routes such as I-65, I-64, and the Western Kentucky Parkway should remain mostly dry, with only brief wet pavement possible during passing showers. Visibility issues are expected to stay minimal, especially compared to heavier rain zones farther east.
Temperatures will trend close to seasonal averages, creating comfortable conditions for Easter gatherings, church services, and outdoor egg hunts. No extreme cold or heat is expected to disrupt plans.
Communities across Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, and southern Indiana will see extended dry periods through the afternoon and evening, reinforcing favorable holiday conditions.
This quieter weather pattern continues into midweek, and while a few weak systems may bring occasional light rain, no significant travel disruptions or advisories are expected.
