Denver, Colorado – A sharp warming trend will accelerate snowmelt and dry out vegetation across the Rockies starting Saturday, increasing fire weather concerns.
According to the National Weather Service, much of Colorado and Utah has a 60–80% probability of above-normal temperatures, while precipitation remains below seasonal averages.
Denver and Colorado Springs will see highs climbing into the 60s and 70s, while Salt Lake City trends similarly warm and dry. Snowpack melt may increase runoff in foothill areas during afternoon hours.
Wyoming and Montana sit closer to a transition zone, where northern areas may see near-normal or slightly cooler conditions.
Dry air and gusty winds could elevate wildfire risk, especially in lower elevations.
Residents should avoid outdoor burning, secure loose items, and stay alert for rapidly changing conditions.
This warm, dry pattern holds through Wednesday, with fire weather alerts possible.
