Kern County, CA – A 64-year-old Kern County woman was arrested following the execution of a search warrant by deputies and detectives investigating suspected narcotics activity in the Taft area.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Taft Substation and detectives with the Rural Crimes Investigation Unit (RCIU) executed a search warrant on July 1, 2026, in the 200 block of Eastern Avenue.
Authorities said Deanna Murphy, 64, was arrested and booked into the Lerdo Jail on multiple alleged offenses stemming from the investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, Murphy was booked on suspicion of maintaining a residence for narcotics sales, sales of narcotics, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance with a prior conviction, possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a stun gun, child endangerment, delaying or obstructing an officer, and an outstanding felony warrant.
The charges are allegations, and Murphy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Investigators have not released additional details about what prompted the search warrant or whether any narcotics or other evidence were seized during the operation.
