Schuylkill County, PA Fatal Hit-and-Run Under Investigation

Troopers are seeking witnesses to a deadly July 4 crash in Pine Grove Township.

Pine Grove Township, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Schuylkill County man on the night of July 4.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop L in Schuylkill Haven, troopers were dispatched at approximately 10:29 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026, to Suedberg Road (State Route 443) near Geary Wolfe Road in Pine Grove Township after receiving a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway.

When first responders arrived, they found the victim deceased. Authorities identified him as Brian Staller, 42, of Pine Grove.

Following an autopsy and continued investigation, state police believe Staller was struck by a vehicle while walking along Suedberg Road near Geary Wolfe Road during the evening of July 4. The driver allegedly left the scene without stopping.

The investigation remains active, and troopers are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed Staller walking along Suedberg Road that evening.

State police noted that callers providing information leading to an arrest or the resolution of the case may be eligible for a cash reward through the PSP Tips program.

The fatal hit-and-run remains under investigation.
