Spotsylvania County, VA – A Spotsylvania County man is facing additional felony charges after investigators allegedly uncovered more evidence during a forensic examination of electronic devices seized in an ongoing child exploitation investigation.
According to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant on June 16, 2026, at a residence in the 300 block of Pool Drive as part of an investigation into alleged child exploitation offenses. Investigators seized multiple electronic devices for forensic examination and also recovered suspected narcotics during the search.
Authorities said Connor Faitak, 32, of Spotsylvania, was arrested at the scene and initially charged with reproduction of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance. He was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he has remained held without bond.
According to the sheriff’s office, a forensic examination of the seized devices later allegedly revealed additional child sexual abuse material. As a result of the continuing investigation, authorities announced that on July 9, 2026, Faitak was charged with four additional counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of distribution of child sexual abuse material. The charges are allegations, and Faitak is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The sheriff’s office said it is working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to identify potential victims depicted in evidence recovered during the investigation.
Officials also noted that the agency experienced a 125% increase in CSAM investigations between 2024 and 2025, prompting the addition of another detective to strengthen its Internet Crimes Against Children investigative efforts.
The investigation remains ongoing.
