Denver, Colorado – A critical fire weather setup could spark and rapidly spread wildfires across the Front Range by late Monday morning, with the highest خطر window between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, a Red Flag Warning is in effect for mountain valleys, foothills, the I-25 corridor, and adjacent plains. West winds will gust between 30 mph on the plains and up to 40 mph in the foothills, while humidity levels drop as low as 9%, creating ideal conditions for explosive fire growth.
Communities including Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, and Castle Rock face elevated risk, especially near open grasslands and along roadways like I-25 and U.S. 36. Even a small spark—from dragging chains, outdoor equipment, or discarded cigarettes—could ignite a fast-moving fire under these conditions.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged, and residents should avoid activities that could produce sparks. Drivers are urged not to park on dry grass and to secure trailer chains.
Conditions improve after sunset as winds ease, but fire danger remains elevated into Tuesday. Additional fire weather alerts may be issued if dry and windy conditions persist.
