Barview, Oregon – A late-night traffic stop in Barview led to an arrest and drug charge, authorities said.

According to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, on a blue Audi coupe near the 60600 block of Wilshire Lane.

During the stop, a female passenger—identified as Dusty L. Setzer, 39—allegedly exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. The deputy took her into custody shortly after.

Authorities said a records check confirmed Setzer had four active warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody on those warrants.

A subsequent search of Setzer allegedly uncovered narcotics packaging material that contained fentanyl residue. She was transported to the Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrants and an additional charge of unlawful possession of fentanyl.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for driving while suspended, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials emphasized that all charges are allegations, and all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The incident occurred in a residential area of Barview, a small community west of Coos Bay, and may be relevant to local commuters and residents traveling through the area at night.
