Killbuck, Ohio – Drivers in Holmes and Wayne counties face flooded roadways this afternoon as Killbuck Creek holds above flood stage, cutting off several low-lying routes through late Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Flood Warning remains in effect for Killbuck Creek near Killbuck until just after midnight Monday, with water levels measured at 15.5 feet as of 2 p.m. Sunday. Flood stage is 15.0 feet, and minor flooding continues across vulnerable areas.

Water has already covered Township Roads 91 and 92 along with County Roads 621 and 622 in Holmes County, creating hazardous travel conditions. Local emergency officials warn that additional low spots near the creek could see standing water through the evening, especially where drainage is poor.

Motorists are urged to avoid driving through flooded areas. Even shallow water can stall vehicles or sweep them off roadways. Residents in flood-prone zones should monitor water levels closely and keep mobile devices charged in case conditions worsen.

The creek is expected to fall below flood stage overnight, but road impacts may linger into the early morning hours Monday. Additional updates are expected around 12:45 a.m. as water levels continue to recede.
