New York, NY – Dry roads and calm conditions are giving the tri-state area a break this morning, with temperatures already climbing into the 40s and pushing toward the mid-50s by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in New York, highs will range from 50°F to 56°F across much of the region through 9 p.m. Sunday. New York City is expected to reach around 55°F, while surrounding areas like Newark, White Plains, and New Brunswick also climb into the mid to upper 50s. Coastal spots such as Montauk and areas along Long Island may stay cooler in the mid-40s.

The lack of precipitation means smooth travel conditions across major corridors including I-95, the Long Island Expressway, and the New Jersey Turnpike. However, breezes near the coast could make it feel slightly cooler during the afternoon.

Residents can expect a quiet weather pattern to hold through tonight, with no immediate hazards. Drivers and commuters should take advantage of the dry stretch before more active weather patterns begin to develop heading into the new week.
