Florida – Palm trees sway and loose debris skitters across parking lots this morning as gusty winds pick up across the Orlando area. The air feels warm but unsettled, and conditions are already shifting.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Wind Advisory remains in effect through late tonight, with northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts reaching up to 35 mph. These winds can make driving difficult, especially on exposed roads and bridges.

Across central Florida, travel along I-4, the Beachline, and area highways may become tricky, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers should keep both hands on the wheel and expect sudden gusts, especially near open stretches and overpasses.

Winds also bring safety concerns at home. Secure patio furniture, trash bins, and decorations. Tree limbs could snap, and isolated power outages are possible through the evening hours.

A few showers are already developing, with a 20% chance continuing through the day. Highs reach around 75°F, but the breeze will make it feel more active than calm.

Looking ahead, the pattern turns more unsettled. Monday brings a 50% chance of thunderstorms, mainly after 8 a.m., with highs near 79°F. Storm chances continue into Tuesday, with scattered showers and storms developing again by late morning.

By midweek, conditions stabilize slightly, with highs climbing into the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. Still, isolated storms remain possible each afternoon as moisture lingers.
