Henderson County, IL – A rural LaHarpe man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony sex offenses following an investigation into allegations involving an underage victim, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Ronald G. Jarrell, 49, after receiving information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) regarding a minor’s disclosure of alleged sexual abuse.
Authorities said the investigation resulted in Jarrell being taken into custody.
The Henderson County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Jarrell with:
- Three counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X felony)
- Three counts of Criminal Sexual Assault (Class 1 felony)
The Sheriff’s Office credited the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Child Advocacy Center, and other assisting agencies for their roles in the investigation.
Officials said no additional information is being released because of the nature of the investigation.
As with all criminal proceedings, the charges are allegations, and Jarrell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
