Harrison Township, OH – A man is in custody after a Monday night shooting in Harrison Township left another man hospitalized with a gunshot wound, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Harrison Township Substation responded at approximately 9:50 p.m. Monday, July 6, to the 4300 block of Fair Oaks Road following reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult male lying in the grass with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Deputies rendered aid until Harrison Township Fire/EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
During the initial investigation, deputies developed suspect information and began making announcements for the individual to surrender.
Because of the circumstances of the incident, the Montgomery County Regional SWAT Team was called to assist. The suspect was ultimately taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or announced any criminal charges.
