Montgomery County, AL – Southbound Interstate 65 remains closed in Montgomery County after an overnight crash involving multiple vehicles, including an overturned commercial vehicle.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, near mile marker 165 on Interstate 65 southbound.

Authorities said the collision involved two commercial vehicles, with one overturning during the crash. The incident has forced the closure of the southbound lanes while recovery crews work to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division remain at the scene investigating the cause of the crash and coordinating with wrecker crews conducting recovery operations.

Officials have not released information regarding injuries or an estimated time for the highway to reopen.

Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and seek alternate routes until the closure is lifted.

ALEA said updates will be provided as recovery efforts continue and additional information becomes available.
