Boston, Massachusetts – Easter plans across New England and the Mid-Atlantic could be impacted by a developing wet pattern, with rain probabilities climbing to 40–50% just days before the holiday stretch.

According to the National Weather Service’s 8–14 day outlook issued Friday, a broad zone of above-normal precipitation is expected to expand from Pennsylvania into New York and southern New England between Saturday and the following weekend. Confidence levels show at least a 40% chance of wetter-than-average conditions, with pockets nearing 50% closer to the I-95 corridor.

From Maine through New York, the signal is less intense but still notable. Cities like Boston, Hartford, and New York City sit on the edge of a more active storm track, where intermittent rain could disrupt outdoor Easter events, especially late in the weekend period. Farther north into Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, conditions trend milder with near-normal precipitation, but passing systems could still bring scattered showers.

Temperatures will run above seasonal averages across the entire region, with the strongest warmth from New Jersey through southern New England. That means no snow concerns, but it also increases the likelihood that any system produces steady rain instead of mixed precipitation.

Travelers along major corridors like I-90, I-91, and I-95 should monitor updates closely, as periods of rain could reduce visibility and slow holiday traffic. Residents are urged to keep backup indoor plans and allow extra travel time.

This pattern remains fluid, but early signals point to a potentially damp Easter setup. Additional updates and refined timing are expected as the holiday approaches.
