Texas starts the day under a gray ceiling, but changes are already unfolding fast across Dallas–Fort Worth as warmer air pushes in and winds begin to shift. Roads are dry now, yet breezes will steadily pick up through midday, hinting at a much warmer and more active stretch ahead.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, east winds near 10 mph will ease before turning southerly, allowing temperatures to climb to around 60°F today . Skies stay mostly cloudy early, then gradually brighten. By Sunday, that warmth accelerates sharply.

Dallas jumps into the low 80s Sunday with gusts up to 25 mph, then surges into the mid to upper 80s by Monday and Tuesday. Areas along I-35 and Loop 12 will feel stronger wind gusts near 30 mph at times, especially during the afternoon commute. Secure loose outdoor items now before winds increase.

The bigger shift arrives Tuesday night. Moisture returns, and storm chances climb to around 40 percent. Showers and thunderstorms could develop after sunset, bringing brief downpours and lightning that may slow travel across DFW Airport corridors and major highways.

By Wednesday, storm chances linger near 30 percent with slightly cooler highs in the upper 70s. While severe weather is not guaranteed, conditions may change quickly as spring patterns take hold.

Looking ahead, above-normal warmth continues into early April, signaling an early taste of summer across North Texas.
