Avon, IN – A major workforce reduction is coming to central Indiana after logistics staffing company Humano announced plans to permanently cease operations at an Avon facility, impacting hundreds of employees.

According to a WARN Act notice filed June 17, 2026, Humano’s operational unit located at 8838 E. County Road 100 South in Avon is expected to permanently cease operations on or about Aug. 17, 2026.

The company said the closure is tied to the termination of Radial LLC’s contract with one of its customers. While Humano’s operations at the location will end, the facility itself is expected to remain open and continue operating under Radial LLC for other customer operations.

According to the filing, 586 employees will be affected by the layoff.

The largest group of impacted workers consists of freight handlers, accounting for 556 positions. Additional affected employees include eight clerks, 10 janitors, 10 supervisors and two managers.

Humano stated that employee notifications were issued June 17 through verbal communication, letters, email and U.S. mail. The expected separation date is the same for all affected staff.

The company also noted that no union represents employees at the site and that no bumping rights exist in connection with the layoff. Workers were provided information regarding resources available through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development to assist with the transition.

The WARN notice indicates the workforce reduction is based on currently available information and could change if circumstances beyond the company’s control arise before the scheduled closure date.

The announcement represents one of the larger recent workforce reductions in Indiana and could have a significant impact on workers and families in the Avon and Indianapolis metropolitan area.
