Marquette, Michigan – Residents across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula will contend with another stretch of cool, unsettled June weather as showers remain in the forecast nearly every day through the end of the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue Monday evening before transitioning into a broader chance for showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Severe weather is not expected, but occasional downpours and lightning could affect outdoor activities and travel.

Temperatures across the Upper Peninsula will remain below seasonal averages for mid-June. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the mid-40s to around 50 degrees through midweek, while daytime highs generally range from the upper 50s to lower 70s.

Cities including Marquette, Houghton, Iron Mountain, Munising and Escanaba could see periods of rain on multiple days. Wednesday and Thursday feature widespread shower chances with highs between 60 and 72 degrees, while Friday may bring another round of showers, especially across southern portions of the peninsula.

Motorists should be prepared for wet roads during heavier showers, while campers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts should monitor changing conditions closely. Anyone hearing thunder should move indoors immediately and wait until storms pass before resuming outdoor activities.

Forecasters expect the unsettled pattern to remain in place throughout the workweek, with additional updates likely as each round of rain approaches.
