Louisiana – Headlights glow faintly through thick fog across Lake Charles this morning, with visibility dropping sharply on roads and bridges. Drivers along I-10 and U.S. 171 may encounter sudden whiteout conditions, especially near low-lying and marshy areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through mid-morning, with visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less at times . Some areas may briefly see even lower visibility where fog thickens near waterways and coastal zones.

Across Calcasieu Parish and into southeast Texas communities like Orange and Port Arthur, conditions can change block by block. Slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra distance between vehicles. Expect the worst visibility before mid-morning, with gradual improvement as sunlight mixes out the fog.

Once the fog lifts, skies trend brighter into the afternoon with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s. That warmth signals a quick shift toward springlike conditions.

The weekend looks calmer and comfortable. Saturday brings sunshine with highs in the mid-70s, followed by a warmer Sunday near the low 80s. By Monday, temperatures push back into the low to mid-80s with partly sunny skies.

Moisture begins to return by Tuesday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible into midweek. Conditions may become more unsettled as warmer air fuels instability.
