Nashville, Tennessee – Rain is moving across Middle Tennessee right now, with wet roads and reduced visibility expected through the midday hours before a sharp cooldown arrives by tonight.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, a cold front is pushing through the region Friday morning, bringing periods of light rain across much of Middle Tennessee through the afternoon. While severe weather is not expected, steady showers will impact travel, especially along I-40, I-65, and I-24 during peak daytime traffic.
Temperatures will fall quickly behind the front, dropping from the upper 60s and 70s Friday into the mid-50s by late afternoon. By early Saturday morning, lows will dip into the low 30s in some areas, creating a chilly start for communities including Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Columbia.
Conditions improve quickly this weekend. Sunshine returns Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 50s, followed by a warmer Sunday with temperatures climbing into the mid-60s to low 70s statewide.
Drivers should remain cautious on wet roads through Friday afternoon, especially during heavier bursts of rain.
Drier weather holds through the weekend, with no major hazards expected after the front clears, though additional updates could follow if conditions shift.
