Boston, Massachusetts – Temperatures across Massachusetts are set to swing sharply over the next several days, with chilly air settling in by Saturday before a gradual warmup returns early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, scattered showers and a possible isolated thunderstorm will move through Thursday night, followed by drying conditions into Friday afternoon. Highs Friday will reach the low 50s in Boston and mid-50s inland, but colder air quickly moves in behind the system.

By Saturday, temperatures drop significantly, with highs struggling to reach the upper 30s to low 40s across much of the state, including Worcester, Springfield, and Lowell. Coastal areas like Hyannis and Nantucket will remain cool in the 40s. Overnight lows dip into the 20s and 30s, creating a sharp contrast from earlier in the week.

Conditions stay dry through the weekend, with sunshine Saturday and increasing clouds Sunday. Travel impacts are minimal, but residents should prepare for colder mornings and dress in layers.

A warming trend begins Monday, with highs climbing into the 60s by midweek across much of Massachusetts. More unsettled weather may return by Tuesday, with additional updates expected.
