Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana will see a mix of sunshine, cooler temperatures, and increasing thunderstorm chances over the next seven days as warmer air builds into the region heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Fort Wayne will remain partly sunny Wednesday with highs near 58 degrees and gusty southwest winds reaching up to 30 mph. Skies clear Wednesday night with temperatures dropping into the lower 40s.

Sunny and calmer conditions arrive Thursday with highs climbing into the mid-60s. Temperatures continue warming Friday as highs reach the lower 70s, though a slight chance of afternoon showers develops ahead of a more active weekend weather pattern.

Forecasters say scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely Friday night through Sunday as temperatures surge into the mid-80s. Saturday is expected to be the warmest day of the stretch with highs near 86 degrees before additional rounds of showers and storms move across the region Saturday night and Sunday.

Rain and thunderstorm chances are expected to continue into early next week, though warm temperatures in the lower 80s are forecast to remain in place.
