Cleveland Weather May 13-20: Rainy Start Before Weekend Warmup

Cleveland, OH – Wet and breezy conditions will continue across northeast Ohio through Thursday before warmer temperatures and periodic thunderstorm chances return heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected overnight into Wednesday morning across the Cleveland metro area. Gusty winds could reach up to 30 mph during the day Wednesday as scattered rain continues throughout portions of northeast Ohio.

Forecasters say temperatures will remain cool through midweek, with highs only reaching around 63 degrees Wednesday and near 59 degrees Thursday. Additional showers are expected Thursday morning before drier air gradually moves into the region later Thursday night.

Skies begin clearing Friday as temperatures rebound into the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. The warming trend accelerates into the weekend, with highs climbing near 78 degrees Saturday and reaching the mid-80s Sunday into Monday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms could redevelop Saturday night through early next week as warmer and more humid air spreads across Ohio. Monday is forecast to reach near 87 degrees across the Cleveland area before additional rain chances continue Tuesday.

Residents along the Lake Erie shoreline should prepare for periods of gusty winds and changing conditions through Thursday before calmer weather returns later this week.
