Houston, TX – Hot and humid weather will continue across the Houston metro area through the weekend before rain and thunderstorm chances gradually return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and highs near 91 degrees across southeast Texas. Winds will remain relatively light through the afternoon, while warm temperatures and humidity continue building across the region.

Forecasters say mostly clear conditions continue Wednesday night with overnight lows remaining mild near 70 degrees. Another sunny and hot day is expected Thursday with highs around 90 degrees and light south winds developing during the afternoon.

The weather pattern remains mostly dry Friday and Saturday, though increasing humidity levels will keep overnight temperatures unusually warm in the lower-to-mid 70s. Friday’s high is forecast near 88 degrees, while Saturday remains partly sunny with highs around 86 degrees.

Cloud cover increases Sunday into Monday as Gulf moisture deepens across southeast Texas. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms develops Monday before rain chances increase further Tuesday across the Houston area.

An air quality alert remains in effect for portions of southeast Texas, and sensitive groups are encouraged to limit prolonged outdoor activity during periods of elevated pollution levels.
