Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is expected to see a cooler and breezy stretch through midweek before temperatures rapidly warm heading into the weekend and early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, showers will continue overnight across the Detroit metro area before gradually tapering off early Wednesday morning. Gusty southwest winds could reach up to 28 mph overnight before shifting west during the day Wednesday.
Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy with highs struggling to climb above 58 degrees across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Cooler air settles into the region Wednesday night with lows dropping into the mid-40s.
Conditions improve Thursday as sunshine returns to southeast Michigan. Highs are expected to rebound to around 64 degrees with lighter north winds developing during the afternoon.
The warming trend accelerates Friday and Saturday, with temperatures climbing into the 70s Friday and reaching the mid-80s Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Saturday is expected to provide the warmest and sunniest conditions of the weekend.
Rain and thunderstorm chances return Sunday afternoon and continue periodically into early next week as warmer and more humid air moves into the Great Lakes region. Monday could reach near 88 degrees before slightly cooler temperatures arrive Tuesday.
Residents should prepare for changing temperatures through the week, ranging from cool breezy afternoons to summerlike warmth by the weekend.
