Charlotte, NC – A prolonged stretch of dry and sunny weather is expected across Charlotte and much of the Carolinas through next week, with temperatures climbing into the lower 90s by Sunday and Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and pleasant spring conditions with highs near 79 degrees across the Charlotte metro area. Winds will remain relatively light through the afternoon, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities and travel.
Forecasters say only a slight chance of isolated showers exists Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, with most areas expected to remain dry. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-50s before sunshine quickly returns Thursday.
Thursday will stay sunny and slightly cooler with highs near 74 degrees and occasional northwest wind gusts reaching up to 21 mph. Temperatures rebound Friday as highs climb back into the upper 70s under clear skies.
The warming trend accelerates heading into the weekend. Saturday is forecast to reach near 87 degrees with abundant sunshine across Mecklenburg County and surrounding communities.
By Sunday and Monday, summerlike heat settles into the region. Highs are expected to reach near 91 degrees Sunday and around 92 degrees Monday before remaining near 91 degrees Tuesday.
No widespread rain chances are currently expected through the extended forecast period, allowing for several consecutive days of dry weather across the Carolinas.
