Michigan – Dense fog is hanging low over Marquette this morning, with visibility already down to about 1.5 miles and temperatures hovering near 30°F. The damp chill is settling in, and roads are starting out slick in spots.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, snow showers will develop through the late morning and continue into the afternoon. Winds will increase from the north at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts near 20 mph, helping reduce visibility further during heavier bursts of snow.
Marquette, Ishpeming, and Negaunee could see brief periods of reduced visibility along US-41 and M-28. Snow accumulation remains light, but changing visibility and cold pavement will create uneven travel conditions. Slow down, especially on bridges and shaded roads.
Temperatures hold near 30°F during the day, then fall into the low 20s tonight. Any melted snow will refreeze quickly, raising the risk of black ice by early Friday morning. This is a prime setup for sudden slick spots.
Friday stays cold with highs near 28°F and another round of scattered snow showers developing into the afternoon. Light snow continues into Friday night before tapering.
Saturday brings partial sunshine with highs near 34°F, offering a slight break. By Sunday, temperatures rebound into the mid-40s with more sun, giving a brief push toward spring.
Next week trends milder but unsettled, with rain and snow chances returning by Tuesday.
