Ohio – Warm, humid air is already building over Cincinnati this morning, and the atmosphere is primed for storms to rapidly intensify later today. Roads may be quiet now, but conditions could deteriorate quickly by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, thunderstorms will develop along and behind a cold front pushing into the region this evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and very heavy rainfall are the primary threats, with isolated tornadoes also possible as storms begin to organize.

Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Middletown are expected to see the strongest storms during the evening commute into the nighttime hours. Expect sudden downpours on I-71, I-75, and I-275, with visibility dropping quickly and water pooling on roadways. Plan extra time and avoid driving through flooded areas.

Storms may intensify quickly, producing strong wind gusts capable of downing small branches and causing scattered power outages. Lightning will also pose a risk for outdoor activities. Keep devices charged and stay alert for warnings.

Rain continues into Friday morning before tapering, with temperatures falling to the low 50s during the day. Cooler air settles in quickly behind the system.

By Friday night, temperatures drop sharply to around 29°F. Any lingering moisture could refreeze, creating slick spots early Saturday. Watch for black ice on bridges and untreated roads.

The weekend improves with sunshine and highs near 51°F Saturday, then warming into the low 60s Sunday. Early next week brings milder temperatures and additional storm chances.

Conditions will change fast as storms move in. Are you seeing clouds building or storms forming in your area?
