Wisconsin – A calm, cool start across La Crosse is giving way to a shifting pattern, with light showers expected later today and a noticeable chill building behind it. Roads remain mostly dry now, but brief wet spots could develop by mid to late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a slight chance of showers develops before late afternoon, with highs reaching near 58°F. Winds shift north and increase, with gusts up to 23 mph, signaling colder air moving into the region.

La Crosse, Onalaska, and La Crescent will see isolated showers with limited rainfall totals, but enough to create slick patches on roads like US-14 and Highway 53. Plan for brief visibility reductions during passing showers.

Conditions change quickly heading into tonight as temperatures fall sharply to around 25°F. Any moisture left on roads or sidewalks could refreeze, creating patchy black ice early Friday. Use caution on bridges and untreated surfaces.

The weekend brings improving weather, with sunshine and highs near 50°F Saturday, followed by a warmer push into the mid-60s Sunday. Early next week continues mild, with highs nearing the upper 60s and additional rain chances returning.
