YORK, NY – A Wyoming County man is facing felony charges after a traffic stop in Livingston County Friday night led to his arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on May 1, 2026, when Deputy Jacob Cicero conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in the Town of York after observing a violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Authorities identified the driver as 30-year-old Cody Greene of Wyoming, NY. During the stop, the deputy allegedly observed signs that Greene may have been under the influence of alcohol, prompting a DWI investigation. Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted, and Greene was subsequently taken into custody.
Greene was transported to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Headquarters in Geneseo, where a breathalyzer test was administered. According to officials, the test revealed a blood alcohol content of .36%, more than four times the legal limit.
A records check showed Greene had a prior conviction for aggravated DWI in 2021, elevating the current charges to felony level. He was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated, aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and additional violations of state traffic law.
Greene was processed at the Livingston County Jail and later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part. According to authorities, he was released on his own recognizance under New York’s bail reform laws.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Greene, while the District Attorney’s Office appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
