Bourbonnais, IL – Families in Bourbonnais and across Kankakee County can sign up children for a spring youth tennis program starting Tuesday, May 12, at Keno Park, with sessions continuing through Thursday, May 21.

According to the Bourbonnais Township Park District, the program is designed to teach young players the fundamentals of tennis while building agility, balance, and coordination in a supportive environment. Instructor-led sessions aim to help beginners grow their skills and confidence on the court.

Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two age-based time slots. Children ages 3 to 5 will meet from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., while ages 6 to 8 will have sessions from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. All sessions will take place at Keno Park, located at 121 William R. Latham Sr. Drive in Bourbonnais, just outside the greater Chicago metro region.

The registration fee is $30 per participant. Parents are encouraged to sign up early, as the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 7. Participants must bring their own tennis racket and water bottle. Spectators are welcome, and families can bring lawn chairs to watch from the sidelines.

The short-term program offers a structured introduction to tennis during the spring season, giving young children an opportunity to stay active and social in an outdoor setting.

Spots may be limited, and officials recommend completing registration before the deadline to secure placement.
