Chicago, IL – Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is set to unveil a new Business Services Center in downtown Chicago on Monday, May 4, marking the first centralized facility of its kind for the office.

According to the Secretary of State’s office, the new center will open at 10:00 a.m. at 160 N. LaSalle Street and is designed to streamline services for businesses while improving overall customer experience.

The facility brings together Business Services and Index operations into one location, allowing customers to complete multiple transactions in a single visit. It also includes a Fast-Lane DMV kiosk aimed at speeding up routine services.

Officials say the move is part of a broader modernization effort to make state services more accessible and efficient. By consolidating operations into a state-owned building, the office expects to eliminate more than $644,000 in annual lease costs.

The new center is described as a zero-cost facility for taxpayers, with savings generated through the relocation and consolidation of existing services rather than new spending.

State leaders say the upgraded space is intended to better serve Illinois businesses by reducing wait times and simplifying processes that previously required visits to multiple locations.

The announcement event will include remarks from Giannoulias and is expected to highlight how the new center supports economic activity by making business-related services more convenient.
