Denver, Colo. – Near-record heat will peak across northeast Colorado by Wednesday afternoon, pushing temperatures into the upper 80s and challenging all-time March records.
According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, highs are expected to reach 86°F in Denver, 89°F in Fort Collins and Greeley, and 88°F in Boulder. These values come within a few degrees of records set just days ago, highlighting an unusually warm stretch for late March.
Communities along the Front Range, including Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and surrounding areas, will see temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal averages. Even higher elevations such as Evergreen could reach around 80°F, while mountain areas like Dillon climb into the low 70s.
The heat may impact outdoor activities, increase early-season fire concerns, and accelerate snowmelt in foothill regions. Residents should stay hydrated, limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, and remain mindful of fire safety.
A shift arrives by Friday as cooler air moves in, bringing temperatures back down closer to seasonal levels. Additional updates are possible as the pattern changes later this week.
