Pueblo, CO – Near-record heat will surge across eastern Colorado by Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures approaching 89°F and fire خطر increasing rapidly during peak heating hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, highs will reach 89°F in Pueblo Wednesday and again Thursday, threatening daily records. Colorado Springs is expected to climb into the low-to-mid 80s, while Alamosa reaches the upper 70s to low 80s. The combination of hot temperatures, low humidity, and gusty winds will create critical fire weather conditions between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. both days.
Communities along the I-25 corridor, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Trinidad, face the highest risk, where dry fuels can ignite quickly. Outdoor burning should be avoided, and any activity that could spark flames should be postponed.
A cold front is expected to move through late Thursday afternoon into the evening, bringing a shift to cooler conditions and potentially limiting record-breaking temperatures if it arrives earlier than expected.
Residents should stay alert for fire weather warnings and prepare for rapidly changing conditions. Additional advisories may be issued as the front approaches.
