Ann Arbor, Michigan – Parking restrictions will be in effect across parts of Ann Arbor this weekend as the University of Michigan prepares for its spring commencement ceremonies at Michigan Stadium.

According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, event-related parking enforcement will be active from 8 a.m. through midnight in neighborhoods surrounding the stadium, located in Washtenaw County within the greater Detroit metro region.

The restrictions primarily impact streets near South Main Street, Pauline Boulevard, and areas around Pioneer High School, as well as nearby residential roads including Snyder Avenue, Berkley Avenue, and Potter Avenue. Additional enforcement zones extend toward South Division Street and surrounding corridors.

Officials say the temporary restrictions are designed to manage increased traffic flow and ensure emergency vehicle access during one of the city’s largest annual events. Drivers are advised to carefully check posted signage before parking, as vehicles left in restricted zones may be ticketed or towed.

The University of Michigan’s spring commencement typically draws large crowds, leading to significant congestion in the stadium area and surrounding neighborhoods.

Authorities are encouraging visitors to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternative transportation options where possible.

Residents and visitors with questions about parking restrictions or enforcement areas can contact the city or visit Ann Arbor’s official website for additional details and maps outlining impacted streets.
