Las Vegas, Nevada – A series of earthquakes continues to rattle Lincoln County, with multiple tremors striking within hours and the strongest reaching magnitude 4.4 Wednesday afternoon, sending light shaking across parts of southern Nevada and briefly unsettling travel along US-93 near Alamo.

According to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory, at least five measurable quakes hit roughly 30 miles south-southwest of Alamo between 3:06 p.m. Wednesday and 12:44 a.m. Thursday. The largest, a 4.4 event at 3:06 p.m., occurred at a depth of about 4 kilometers. Additional quakes ranged from magnitude 2.6 to 3.6, including a 3.6 tremor just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

The cluster is centered in a sparsely populated stretch of desert northeast of Las Vegas, but light shaking was reported across Lincoln County and faintly into the Las Vegas Valley. No road closures or structural damage have been confirmed, though drivers along US-93 and nearby rural routes may notice brief vibrations or loose debris.

Emergency officials say infrastructure impacts remain minimal, but residents should secure loose items, check for cracks after stronger shaking, and keep phones charged in case of additional aftershocks. Swarms like this can produce repeated jolts over hours.

Seismologists warn smaller aftershocks could continue through Thursday, with activity possibly extending into the next 24 hours. Updates will be issued if stronger quakes develop or impacts expand.
