Nashville, Tennessee – A prolonged heat surge will push temperatures across Tennessee into the upper 80s by Saturday afternoon, with dry conditions limiting storm chances and increasing heat exposure risks.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, there is an 80 to 90 percent probability of above-normal temperatures statewide through early next week. Unlike surrounding states, Tennessee is expected to remain largely dry, with little to no thunderstorm activity expected through this stretch.

Nashville is forecast to reach the upper 80s between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, with similar conditions extending west along I-40 into Memphis and east toward Knoxville and Chattanooga. Humidity will gradually increase, but the lack of cloud cover and rainfall will allow temperatures to climb efficiently each afternoon.

The absence of widespread storms means prolonged daytime heating, especially across Middle and West Tennessee. Areas along I-65 and I-24 will see consistent sunshine, increasing the risk of dehydration and heat fatigue during peak hours.

Residents should take advantage of cooler morning hours, stay hydrated, and avoid extended outdoor activity during the afternoon. This dry and hot pattern is expected to persist through early next week, with updates likely if rain chances return.
