Boise, Idaho – A sharp temperature swing will impact southwest Idaho this week, with highs climbing into the mid-70s Tuesday before a cold front brings cooler, breezy, and unsettled conditions by Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, temperatures across the Treasure Valley will peak near 73 to 75 degrees Tuesday, running well above seasonal averages. Cities including Nampa, Meridian, and Caldwell will see similar warmth, while even higher elevations trend milder than normal.

By late Tuesday into Wednesday, a cold front will move through the region, shifting conditions بسرعة. Winds will increase and mountain areas, including McCall and Stanley, will see higher chances for showers, with precipitation probabilities climbing to around 40 to 60 percent in some locations.

Lower elevations such as Boise and Twin Falls will see more limited rainfall chances, but breezy conditions could still impact travel, especially on exposed roadways like I-84.

The rapid warm-up followed by cooler air may also create hazardous conditions for recreation, particularly in mountain areas where snowmelt and cold water temperatures remain a concern. Officials urge anyone heading outdoors to prepare for changing conditions and wear appropriate safety gear.

The cooler, unsettled pattern will continue through Wednesday, with additional updates expected as the front moves through the region.
